Rajasthan Public Service Commission has released notification for State Eligibility Test (SET) Exam which will be conducted on the lines of UGC NET. This time the exam will be conducted by the Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara. The application forms are still being accepted till 11th February 2023 and the exam is set to be conducted on 19th March 2023.

RPSC SET is a state level exam which is held for the post of Assistant Professor or Lectureship to various colleges and universities in Rajasthan. The last SET exam was conducted in Rajasthan in the year 2013.

Qualification:

Candidates who have completed their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized University/Council at the subject they are applying for in Rajasthan SET.

Candidates who will be appearing in the final year examination of Master’s Degree or whose results are awaited can apply. Candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination.

Age Limit:

Minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years. Candidate must not have attained the age of 35 years on the first day of January 2023. 

Exam Fee:

a) For General/SBC/OBC (Creamy layer) of Rajasthan state and /Out of State: Rs. 1500/-

b) For EWS/SBC/ OBC (Non-Creamy layer) of Rajasthan state Candidates: Rs. 1200/-

c) For SC/ST of Rajasthan state and All the PH Candidates: Rs. 750/-
 

Rajasthan SET Certificate Validity 2023

The SET certificate is valid for the state of Rajasthan and its validity is forever. The certificate is essential for recruitment to the post of Lecturer/ Assistant Professor.

Exam Pattern:

The exam will be based directly on the pattern of UGC NET, just the level of paper will be slightly lower as compared to it. Paper 1 will consist of General Paper consisting 50 questions in which reasoning ability, reading comprehension, general awareness etc. are asked while Paper 2 will consist of domain specific subject consisting 100 questions. Each question will be of 2 marks each and hence the exam will be of 300 marks. All the questions will be of multiple choice type and there will be no negative marking. The total time allotted is 3 hours.
