TS SET (Telangana State Eligibility Test) is an exam for the aspirants in Telangana who wants to become Assistant Professors or Lecturers in Government Universities and Colleges in Telangana. Osmania University is responsible for conducting the exam every year online on behalf of the Telangana State Government. The TS SET Exam includes a general paper (Paper 1) and a subject-specific paper (Paper 2) chosen from 29 subjects. To get succeed in the TS SET Exam, candidates must give both papers. Osmania University made the TS SET Application Form available from May 14, 2024. You can fill out the form without a late fee until July 2, 2024. If you miss this deadline, you can still apply online till 26 July, but you have to pay a late fee. The university will open an application correction window on July 28 and 29 2024 to make any correction on your application. The TS SET exam will be conducted on July 28, 29, 30, and 31, 2024. TS SET Exam Admit Card will be released on 20 August 2024.

TS SET Paper-I
TS SET Paper-I consists of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions will be of general nature. Paper-I is set to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the aspiring candidates. TS SET Paper-I mainly designed to test Comprehension skills, divergent thinking, reasoning ability and general knowledge of the candidate.

TS SET Paper-II
Paper 2 is subject-specific exam, where the subjects are chosen by the candidate from a 33 subject list. Candidates has to choose a subject while filling the TS SET Application Form. This paper’s main objective is to assess aspirant’s teaching and research capabilities. The TS SET Paper-I also aims at checking the teaching and research aptitude of the candidates.

Procedure & Criteria for declaration of TS SET Result:
Here are the steps by how the TS SET Result is decided:
1. The number of candidates who qualify for the Assistant Professor, will be 6% of all the aspirants who appeared for both papers of the TS SET Examination.
2. Now these qualifying spots are distributed among different categories based on the reservation rules of the Government of Telangana.

NOTE: Candidates who belong from outside of Telangana State will be counted in non-local and unreserved category.
- Reservation for Women: 33.33% of slots are reserved for women in each subject and category. If women candidates selected on merit then this reservation won't be applied. If there are not enough women candidates, those slots will go to men of the same category.
- Reservation for Disabled Persons: 3% of slots are reserved for disabled candidates in each category (OC/BC/SC/ST/Transgender) in each subject.
3. In order to be considered eligible for Assistant Professor/ Lecturer:
- The candidate must appear in both the Paper-I & Paper-II and secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category candidates
- At least 35% aggregate marks, a candidate has to score if he belongs to the reserved categories (viz., SC, ST, BC, & PwD) and Transgender.
4. The methodology from which the number of candidates who will be declared qualified in any subject for a particular category is illustrated below:
For Example: The percentage combined of both Paper-I & Paper-II will be used to set the qualifying cutoff for Assistant Professor Eligibility in Economics subject for the SC category.
As mentioned in the above example, the same method will be used to set qualifying cut-offs for all subjects and categories. The qualifying criteria set in TS-SET Exam are final and must be followed.

TS SET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
There are various factors in TS SET Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Limit: No upper age limit to apply for TS SET Exam.
- General/EWS Candidates: TS SET Aspirants must have minimum 55% in their Master’s Degree (e.g., M.A., M.Sc., MBA, etc.) without rounding off.
- BC/SC/ST/PwD: Candidates must have at least 50% in their Master’s Degree without rounding off.
- Current Master’s Students: Students who are still studying or waiting for their final results can apply provisionally but they must achieve the required marks within two years of TS SET Result.
- Transgender: Aspirants are eligible for the same relaxations as SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Ph.D. Holders (pre-1991): Ph.D. holders will get a 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks (from 55% to 50%).
- Subjects: Candidates must apply only for subjects listed in the TS SET 30 subject list.
- Documents: There is no need for candidates to send their documents or application printouts to the organising body. They should verify eligibility by themselves and show original certificates during the verification when/if they qualify.
- Foreign Degrees/Diplomas: Candidates should check their degree equivalence with the Indian Master’s Degrees from AIU, New Delhi.
