Procedure & Criteria of UGC NET Cut Off Declaration
The procedures below outline the parameters used to determine UGC NET cutoff for each topic.
- Total vacancies are assigned to candidates belonging to various categories as per the Reservation Policy of the Government of India.
- The number of applicants qualified for UGC NET is equivalent to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both papers of the exam.
- To be considered for the granting of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor, applicants must earn the minimum marks specified below.

- The number of applicants certified UGC NET qualified in any topic for a certain category is calculated using the technique outline below.

The aggregate percentage obtained by candidates in the two examinations corresponding to the number of slots will be used to calculate the qualifying cut-off for Assistant Professor in Economics in the SC category. Similarly, cutoffs will be determined for all disciplines and categories.
- All applicants (who applied for both Assistant Professor and JRF) from the total number of qualifying candidates determined in Step IV will be considered for JRF.
- The total number of slots available for granting JRFs is divided into different categories in accordance with the Government of India's reservation policy. The mechanism for subject-wise cum-category-wise allotment of JRF berths is as follows:
