Nationality Requirements for CTET 2026

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A citizen of Nepal, or
  • A citizen of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from the following countries to permanently settle in India:
    Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Myanmar (Burma).

CTET Age Limit 2026

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: No upper age limit
  • Candidates from reserved categories may receive age relaxation as per government rules.

CTET Exam 2026 Educational Qualification

As per NCTE guidelines, candidates pursuing Teacher Training Courses are now eligible to apply for CTET Exam 2026.

Eligibility for Paper I (Classes I-V)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in D.El.Ed./B.El.Ed./D.Ed.

Eligibility for Paper II (Classes VI-VIII)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed/B.El.Ed/D.El.Ed.
