UGC NET French 2025 Exam Analysis

The UGC NET Chinese 2025 Shift 1 exam, conducted on 5 January , featured two papers — Paper I (General Aptitude) and Paper II (Subject-specific: Chinese). As per student feedback and expert analysis

Paper 1 was rated easy to moderate in difficulty, offering balanced coverage across all 10 units with a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Well-prepared candidates could confidently attempt 42–45 questions, as the paper featured PYQ-repeated patterns like assertion-reason, match-the-following, and direct scoring items in sections such as Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and ICT. Student feedback praised the manageable Data Interpretation sets without heavy calculations, predictable syllogisms, and overall student-friendly shift that aligned seamlessly with recent exam trends, rewarding consistent PYQ practice

Paper 2  was Moderately challenging with a mix of language skills and literary depth, covering French grammar/vocabulary, prose/poetry comprehension, literary history, key authors/movements, translation techniques, and francophone lit. Tough spots included factual recall on classics/moderns (e.g., Hugo, Sartre, Camus), critical theories (existentialism, post-colonialism), plus new emphases on India-France cultural ties, AI translation tools, and digital francophonie—analytical questions on excerpts demanded nuance, per fresh candidate feedback. Safe attempt: 38–43 for strong scores.

UGC NET French 2025 was overall moderate and well-balanced.
Paper 1 was easy–moderate, scoring, and PYQ-driven with strong conceptual focus.
Paper 2 was moderately challenging, testing French literature, language skills, and analysis.
Consistent PYQ practice and subject clarity were key to high scores
