UGC NET Nepali 2026 FAQs

Candidates with a Master’s degree in Nepali or a related subject with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) can apply. Final-year postgraduate students are also eligible.

The exam consists of two papers: Paper I (General Aptitude) with 50 questions and Paper II (Nepali) with 100 questions. Both papers are held in a single session and follow a multiple-choice format.

For JRF, the upper age limit is 30 years (with relaxation for reserved categories). There is no age limit for the Assistant Professor post.

Qualified candidates can work as Assistant Professors, researchers, translators, content writers, or pursue PhD programs with fellowship opportunities in Nepali language and literature.
