UGC NET December 2026 Eligibility Criteria<\/b><\/h2>\n

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before submitting the application form.<\/span><\/p>\n

Educational Qualification<\/b><\/h3>\n

General\/Unreserved\/General-EWS candidates must have at least <\/span>55% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination<\/b> from a UGC-recognized university or institution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates belonging to <\/span>OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD\/PwBD and Third Gender categories<\/b> require at least <\/span>50% marks<\/b> in their Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates who are currently pursuing their Master’s degree or have appeared in the final-year examination and are waiting for their results may also apply, subject to fulfilling the prescribed conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates with a four-year\/eight-semester Bachelor’s degree can also apply under the conditions mentioned in the official notification. Such candidates can be eligible for JRF and PhD admission but are <\/span>not eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor on the basis of a four-year Bachelor’s degree<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

UGC NET Age Limit<\/b><\/h3>\n

For <\/span>JRF<\/b>, candidates should not be more than <\/span>30 years of age as on December 1, 2026<\/b>, subject to applicable relaxations.<\/span><\/p>\n
