While Bahlul Lodi and Sikandar Lodi tried to restore some order, the final ruler, Ibrahim Lodi, failed miserably. Ibrahim Lodi was an arrogant ruler who mistreated his nobles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He tried to centralize power by humiliating the powerful Afghan chiefs who had supported his family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This internal friction led to widespread conspiracies. Ibrahim\u2019s inability to maintain the <\/span><b>&#8220;Afghan Theory of Kingship,&#8221; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which balanced the Sultan&#8217;s power with the nobles&#8217; respect, cost him his throne.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lodi military was also outdated. They relied heavily on elephants and large numbers of infantry.
