The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the NEET 2024 result on June 4, 2024, ahead of its scheduled date of June 14. Candidates can now download their scorecards from the official NEET websites: [neet.ntaonline.in](https://neet.ntaonline.in) and [exams.nta.ac.in/NEET](https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET). To access the scorecard, students need to enter their application number and date of birth. The NEET 2024 scorecard includes the candidate's name, roll number, application number, photograph, parents’ names, category, nationality, date of birth, gender, subject-wise percentile scores, total score out of 720, All India Rank (AIR), and the cutoff percentile for each category.
The NEET 2024 exam saw a total of 23,33,297 candidates appearing, with 13,16,268 qualifying for the next stages. The category-wise cutoff scores were also released, with the unreserved (UR) and economically weaker sections (EWS) candidates needing a score between 720-164 to qualify. Notably, 67 candidates secured an AIR 1 with a percentile of 99.9971285, marking the largest number of top scorers in NEET history.
Among the top scorers was Divyansh from Delhi, who achieved a perfect score despite facing significant health challenges. This year, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan produced the highest number of qualifying candidates, indicating strong regional performances.
The NEET 2024 counselling process is set to begin in the first week of July 2024, with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducting the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling and various state authorities managing the 85% state quota counselling. Detailed schedules and information bulletins are expected to be released by the fourth week of June 2024.
NTA clarified the calculation methods for scores and percentiles. The NEET score is the raw mark obtained by a candidate, while the percentile score reflects the candidate's performance relative to others. For instance, a score of 600 out of 720 might translate to the 90th percentile, indicating the candidate performed better than 90% of all test-takers.
The release of the NEET 2024 result prompted varied reactions on social media, with many students sharing their joy and relief at their performance. The NEET 2024 merit list, unlike previous years, did not include candidates' scores, focusing instead on ranks and percentiles.
The result data revealed interesting trends in language preferences for the exam. While English and Hindi remained the most popular languages, regional languages like Gujarati, Bengali, and Tamil also saw significant registrations. Conversely, Punjabi, Malayalam, and Kannada were the least opted languages.
Overall, NEET 2024 results highlight not just academic achievements but also stories of resilience and determination, as seen in the case of top scorers like Divyansh. As candidates prepare for the counselling process, the focus now shifts to securing admissions into medical and dental colleges across India.
